Annika KompArt works as a professional and international dancer, chorepgrapher and teacher.

She recently got a fulltime grand from the Dachverband für Tanz Germany to research on climate freindly dance making. Last year she danced with her solo dance piece Treffpunkt Speech(less) in the european dance final of MArte Live Europe and she works as dancer and teacher in a project with Sasha Waltz & Guests. Furthermore she was as associated artist working at the Tanz Station – Barmer Bahnhof and was assistant choreographer to a new production for Tanztheater Wuppertal by Rainer Behr.

Her artistic work focuses on the diversity and possibilities which lie in dance; by collaborating cross-disciplinary to create durational works, staging experimental explorations, site specific performances and reinterpreting traditions. She uses different chorographical methods and improvisational tools as inspiration and guidance for the dance. 

She received various kinds of funding, like the Arts Council funding in the UK, the Danish National Fund, local fundings and more to produce and present her work. As a dancer and performer she also works with Cantabile2, Kasper Ravnhøj, Tanz Station - Barmer Bahnhof, company merighy I mercy, Lola and Yukao meet, Oriantheatre Paris, Reckless Sleepers, Glimt Danseteater and others. 
Her seven hour durational work "The Last Knit" awakened interest by the Marina Abramovic Institute ( https://mai.art/).

In 2021 Annika graduated with the first MfA in Performing Arts at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen; including masterclasses by Falk Richter, Runar Hodne and others. In 2014, she graduated with a first honoured BPA degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK. Her previous degree at the Erika Klütz School Hamburg, Germany has qualified her as a teacher in dance and education and she has been employed as a regular guest teacher and choreographer to the students there since 2011.
