VINTAGE Tanz is an interactive dance and film project. A fusion of spontaneous, artificial and everyday movements, transformed into a dance theatre piece. Three young artists from Wuppertal brought momentum into the cities of the Bergische region and enter into direct exchange with the inhabitants this summer. They collected, documented and reassemble dances, a transmedia project-involving dance, film and performative intervention.
A chalk square on the floor got installed at various locations where people pas-by to donate dances, movements and gestures to become part of the dance project. A film got created from the collected movements, that hat its first research showing the FRAGILE Festival in the Pina Bausch Zentrum and is aimed to be presented at various locations to further invite interaction. This film forms the starting point for a dance theatre production in the second phase of the project. The wish is to motivate different people to dance, to integrate them and to win new audiences for the dance theatre genre.
